New hair, new style, new blog. That's just how I roll, baby.
I got my hair done today (well, technically Friday, but whatever), for the first time in months. I didn't quite realize how bad my hair truly looked until I saw it under the salon lights. Eek.
See, I've been going gray since the age of 14. This doesn't particularly bother me all that much, as strangely enough it's mostly all in one spot. It's gotten more predominant in my twenties and now if I part it on the left, I have full-on Rogue-from-the-X-Men streaks. No, it was actually the fact that I had nearly 7-inch roots from my home dye-job back in October before I left for DCL that had me freaking. I'm not sure if I colour-matched my hair improperly or the Bahamian sun lightened the dyed part or it just got funky in general, but my natural hair is actually black-brown (and gray, but we'll skip that part). So now, thanks to Maryam from Moda Fina, my hair is back to its orignal glory, with an extra punch of awesometown: it's bright red underneath. It's visible if I put my hair up or part it down the centre or over my shoulder, et cetera, but I absolutely love it. Do you remember the band Aqua? The lead singer had what I like to think of as the reverse of my hair in the video for the song Dr Jones. See how her hair is bright red in the front and black in the back? Well, take that red part and move it around to the underneath at the nape of her neck, and that's my hair.
(I can picture it. It would be easier for me to post photos, but sadly my camera's batteries are dead so you'll have to wait.)
I also got pseudo-bangs, that you can sweep over to one side. I'm sure they'll drive me crazy in the next couple of weeks.
I did have a lot more poignant things to write about other than my hair, but I took so long writing my bio page that I've forgotten what I was going to write. Probably something to do with the fact that I've been a lazy bum this week and basically sat around in my pajamas, eating cereal in bed and watching Avenue Jew on youtube. Oh, and playing DS. I bought Harvest Moon DS Cute whilst in Ottawa this past weekend, and I've been playing it fairly incessantly. I'm pretty sure I'm further now in Cute than in the original Harvest Moon that I purchased when I bought my DS back in March. As much as I adore the original HM, I just prefer playing as a girlie character. Come on; in Cute, you get to change your character's clothes AND the wallpaper in your cabin! My only beef with the DS version is that the bachelors are all kind of creepy-looking. I can't help it... I'm a Kai girl (Kai is the guy wearing a purple bandanna who runs the beach restaurant in Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for GBA). I think in Cute I'm going to aim for Carter; since he's an archaeologist I can pretend he's Indiana Jones (which happened to be on tv this past Wednesday).
Enough blather for now, I've got to hit the hay. If I don't get through at least a couple of my storage boxes tomorrow I'm pretty sure my mom will kill me.
